SHOP DRAWING- MAIN DISTRIBUTION BOARD

We have gone through the shop drawing of Main Distribution Board prepared by KIK Engineering (Pvt)
Ltd and submitted by the contractor Kent Engineers (Pvt) Ltd. Our observations and recommendations are
listed below.

1. It was noted that the firefighting service supplies are fed from the outgoing bus-bars. However If
the connections are taken from the incoming side of the main circuit breaker, the operation of fire
pumps and sprinkler systems is possible even main breaker is in Off position.

2. It will be better that the form of construction of the Main Distribution Board of this nature be
Form 4b. In the shop drawing it is indicated as Form 2b.

3. Based on the practical limitations, it is accepted the suggestion given by the panel manufacturer
to use an Earth Fault Relays (EFRs) for Main Distribution Panel instead of using Earth Leakage
Relays (ELRs) as it was mentioned in the design consultants’ comments.
