Vivado Installation

1. Download Vivado 2016.4 from this URL: https://www.xilinx.com/support/download.html.

2. Extract the installer file: Xilinx_Vivado_SDK_2016.4_0124_1.tar.

3. Run the installer file: xsetup.exe.

4. Follow the installation process, and select Vivado HL WebPACK edition (Figure 1).

5. Enable Software Development Kit (SDK) (Figure 2). If you forget to enable this, you may
have to reinstall the Vivado.

6. Optionally if you don’t need the 7 Series and UltraScale options (Figure 2) , you can disable
it to save HDD space.

7. Select the installation directory. You can use the default directory (C:\Xilinx) (Figure 3), or
use another directory, but make sure the directory name doesn’t contain any space.

8. Wait until the installation process completed. It will take about 30 minutes depending on
the PC specification.

9. Install cable drivers: Jungo and Xilinx.

10. Get the free WebPACK license (Figure 4). You should register first if don’t have Xilinx ID.

11. Follow the instruction, and the license file (.lic) will be sent to your email.

12. Load the license file by clicking the Copy License button (Figure 5).
