SHAC Health Ed Committee – the following invitation is being sent to parents who submitted public
comment cards related to this topic at SHAC meetings this year. We would also like to invite you, the
SHAC Health Ed committee, to attend.

*This is a parent focus group meeting open to those receiving this invitation directly. Please do not
forward.

We would like to invite you to be part of a parent focus group regarding AISD’s proposed Human
Sexuality and Responsibility curriculum update.

During this meeting, parents will:

 be informed about current research as well as Austin ISD data
 learn about policies and procedures related to the curriculum update
 preview the curriculum
 provide feedback regarding both the proposed curriculum and the recommended roll-out plan

This meeting will be held at Austin High in the cafeteria from 6 to 8 pm on May 23, 2018. A light dinner
will be provided beginning at 5:30.
