OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH –

Responsible Mining recognizes that the impact of

a company’s activities on health and safety of
both the employees and affected communities is
primarily the responsibility of the company.
Adequate measures should be put in place at
every stage of the mining in order to address
health issues and safety concerns.

o Publicly available policies and procedures for the management
of health and safety or workers and the local population, and
Adequate response program for emergency situations

General Principle of Occupational Safety and
Health in Responsible Mining:

• Be proactive in implementing good practices for health and

safety performance in all phases of mining by:

o Making health and safety reports available to the public,
and
o Cooperating fully and in transparent manner with public
authorities in preventing serious threats to public health and
safety

Basic Principles of Safety and Health in all stages of Mining:

Exploration -- Safeguard the health and safety of workers and the local population

Construction -- Safeguard the health and safety of workers and the local population

Operation -- Safeguard the health and safety of workers and the local population
and provide a safe and healthy workplace
