Teaching Methodology:
Case studies will be the main method of teaching. Other supporting methods of teaching
e.g. lecture, simulation exercise may be used as and when necessary. Use of visual aids,
like OHP and multimedia, are expected to be used by the student for their presentations.
The techniques of experiential learning like group discussions, classroom exercises, role
play etc. may be used to increase participation.
Case studies will be used extensively to help the students to solve real-life problems and
develop insights into applied organization approaches.
Course Assignments:
This course has been designed in a way so that the students can get a clear insight about
Strategic Human resource management concepts, theories and practices. For developing this
insight we learn fundamentals of human resource management, with the ever changing work
environment. Learning however means preparing oneself so that s/he can perform successfully in
the practical world. For the purpose along with the class lectures students will get assignments
and exercises from the course teacher.

Course Policies:
Attendance: Attendance in class is mandatory. One mark will be deducted for each absent in the
class. Students remain absent for more than three classes will not be allowed to sit in the
examination.
Text Book: Students are required to have the textbook(s) by the first week of the semester and have
to bring the book in the class. Cases and problems from the real life will be extensively used in the
class room. Details of which will be discussed in the class in advance.
Course Content: Instructor reserves the right to make necessary changes in the course content
depending n the progress of the class.
Case study: the course is heavily dependent on case studies. Each student should be ready to make
case presentation for the day. They should submit a hard copy of the case analysis and should have a
soft copy for the presentation and discussion in the class room.
Class Makeup: In case of unavoidable circumstances should a course meeting, lecture or exam,
needs to be cancelled; students may be offered a make up class. All makeup classes will be held as
per the rescheduling suggested by the course teacher.
Academic Honesty: Any academic misconduct will be dealt according to the provisions of the
students’ code of conduct.
Consultation Hour: Students are most welcome to make appointment at the time convenient to both
the teacher & students.
