TASTING NOTES

GLENFIDDICH

12 YEARS OLD
Our signature expression, Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is renowned for its distinctive pear
notes. Carefully matured in the finest American bourbon and Spanish sherry oak casks,
we mellow our single malt in oak marrying tuns for a complete harmony of flavour.

COLOUR
Whisky begins life as clear as the Robbie Dhu springwater from which its made,
but our 12 Year Old develops a rich golden colour as it matures.

NOSE
When nosing this expression, some people say they are reminded of a sweet shop,
while others can smell an orchard in bloom. I get a distinctive pear aroma, and it’s
this unique note that sets Glenfiddich apart from all other whiskies.

TASTE
Most people say our 12 Year Old has the aroma of fresh fruit and I’d say it tastes just as
fruity, too. The whisky is perfectly balanced. I find it quite sweet, with a rewarding hint of
vanilla sweetness you can taste on the tip of your tongue.

FINISH
The finish is long, warming and sweet. The flavour doesn’t stop there, though. It keeps
evolving in the glass. A second sip will reveal a creamy, malty character with just a hint
of subtle oak that’s imparted by our marrying tuns.
