OSHA Hospital Standards

DO’S

1. Keep fingernails clean and short.

2. Ensure the hazard box container is covered.
3. Wash hands with soap and water before putting on gloves.
4. Ensure that gown covers of clothing front and back.
5. Always wear gloves when drawing blood or putting an injection.

DONT’S

1. Don’t wear artificial nails or jewelry.

2. Don’t take equipment from one patient to the next one without disinfecting.
3. Don’t store food or drinks in the patient room refrigerator.
4. Don’t work sick with vomit nausea or diarrhea.
5. Don’t wear PPE outside the room patient.
