The Vishwavidyalaya was established to provide an option of, imparting education in the national language, discouraging the English medium of education in India based on the western education policy of Lord Macaulay. It aimed at creating a viable environment for students for higher learning and research in the areas of Vedic literature, Indian philosophy, Indian culture and literature and modern subjects. Since ts inception, the Arya Samaj has been advocating wornen education. In order to shape this dream, the Kanya ‘Gurukula Mahavidyalaya (K.GM.) Dehradun was established in 1923 by Late Acharya Ramdevji. Later the Kanya Gurukula Mahavidyalaya, Haridwar was also established in 1993 for Post Graduate Classes, The basic task before the Vishwavidyalaya is to enhance the physical, moral and intellectual strength of both girls and boys and thus to make them ideal citizens, by
