Go to Transaction SNOTE

Read the note carefully and check for validity, Pre-Implementation steps , Post-Implementation
steps and Pre-requisite Notes.

Download / Upload the desired Note http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-43239

Do the manual pre-implementation steps in case the Note suggests.

Implement the pre-requisite Note if needed

Implement the Note , Navigate to menu Goto -> SAP Note Browser

Make sure the Note is in “Can be Implemented” or “Obsolete version Implemented”

Implementation status.

Select the note and proceed with Implementation (F8) , SNOTE also allows to implement set of
Notes together.

Select the request from the pop-window or create a new request.

SNOTE lists out objects

Make sure to see the final status and log of note implementation (ctrl+F5).

Check for Post-Implementation steps from the Note , if mentioned proceed with the steps accordingly.

3 weeks ago I read almost the same: SNOTE Note Implementation

I would appreciate a blog or document that outlines what to do if you hit problems when the note cannot find the context for
auto-implementation etc

I have just started documenting the entire process of Note implementation via SNOTE.

Soon I will document the troubleshooting steps of typical problems seen there.

Hi,

yes. you need to snote -> download snote

–> give the note number you want to download and continue.

For this, make sure you have the market place connection active.(SAPOSS)

I just given you short info,

Please let me know if you need any help.

Anyways above blog is good.

Nice Blog. Would like to add some more points which might be helpful for implementing the notes.

– How to download SAP note (SAP should be connected to Service market place)

In SNOTE: Click on Download SAP note icon(Ctrl+F8),pop-up will appear, provide the note number you want to download and click
Execute(F8). The relevant note will be downloaded.

One of the way to check if the SAP note can be implemented:

After downloading the note, in the main page itself under New category, you can see the symbol in left against all notes, move
the mouse over, you will see a message whether it can be implemented or not. Based on that you can proceed with you
implementation.

Other ways:

– Check the release version of SAP you are using and verify if the SAP note is for that release version.

– Some of the notes needs to be implemented before implementing the actual note,as a prerequisite(as specified by Abhilash),
or sometimes it might need manual corrections or adding new fields to table, structure, append structures to standard tables,
etc.

– Some of the notes can be auto-implemented, but some might require manual code changes, other changes like adding new
fields to table, structure, append structures to standard tables, etc.

Hence go through the code/corrections which needs to be done and check if it is already there in your SAP system.

– You can also download latest version of SAP notes in SNOTE transaction and implement the relevant in the system if
needed.

– The implemented note can be reset if you think, note does not solve your purpose, by going to Note assistant, provide your
SAP note number and hit Ctrl+F2 (go to Menu bar->SAP Note->Reset SAP Note Implementation.

Hope it is helpful!

Regards,

M M Jaffer.

Dear Sir,

I want to know that can we apply SNOTE directly to PRD server.

or

we have to apply first at DEV server, test and then apply in PRD server.

Is there any SAP document for describing this,If yes…then please share the document.

Please guide me…!!

And the result would be that your systems are inconsistent, where is here the logic?

Hi Junaid,

Best practice is to apply snotes in your development system and transport through your environment to
production.
