Reflection

This process has changed my outlook not only as a teacher but also as a human being. I am
embarrassed of my past experiences and my previous mindsets. I am proud of who I am
becoming.

Although many of the changes are still to come in the new school year, they are changes that are
going to affect the social roles of my students. I now understand the value of students remaining
in their classrooms and the positive peer relationships that form because they are allowed to be
nurtured. I have the power to nurture positive social roles by placing value on ALL of my
students.

I also have a responsibility to those students to share my knowledge with the other staff in our
building. If I look back on my mindset, and how I have changed over the last 6 months, I know
that others can change too. It has a ripple effect.

I am now looking forward to all of the wonderful changes that are taking place in our school and
I am proud to be a part of it.
