ROUND-UP & PARADE
SPECIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
THESE SPECIAL RULES & REGULATIONS will be strictly enforced and if not complied with, your
entry will be disqualified. The Sheriff's Posse regrets any inconvenience to you and your family
members, but it has become increasingly evident we need these Rules & Regulations in order to have a
successful parade.
(PLEASE READ AND KEEP THIS FOR YOUR RECORDS;
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO RETURN THIS WITH YOUR ENTRY.)
1. All entries must list each and every name of the riders or members of a group. If you are unsure as
to who is going to be riding on parade day, you must list all the names and ages of the members of
that group who could possibly be riding. If necessary please attach a list to entry form. The
applicant signing the entry for the group is also signing the Release and Waiver for everyone in
his/her group. Anyone under 18-years-old must have a parent or adult sign Release and Waiver.
2. There will be NO CHANGES TO CLASS OR SCRIPT AFTER DEADLINE DATE. Please choose
class carefully. If your class does get changed, it was at the discretion of parade organizers based
on the information you submitted to us on your entry form.
3. We ask you be more specific in your script, i. horses, floats, trucks, walking, music playing and if
you want something specific announced, please say so in script. We would like it to be no more
‘than 30 words and we try to get all the important facts submitted in your parade announcement.
4, You must place your parade entry number on the right side of the front person, horse, car, float,
etc. so itis visible at all times to the judges. If the judges cannot see your entry number, you will
not be judged. This is your responsibility, not the judges.
5. The parade will start promptly at 10:00 a.m.
6. All units must maintain approximately 20 paces from the unit ahead and MUST MAINTAIN
FORWARD MOTION AT ALL TIMES.
7. Entrants must have full control of vehicles or animals at all times.
8, Parade Chairman reserves the right to reject any entry not in keeping with the dignity of the
parade.
9. All children riding, 8 years and under, must be on a lead line or accompanied by an adult.
10. There will be NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE PARADE LINE.
11. There will be NO THROWING, OR SQUIRTING OF ANY OBJECTS during the parade (i, candy,
flyers, Frisbees, water guns, etc.)
12. Sonora City Ordinance WILL NOT ALLOW ANY BALLOONS on the parade route.
13. Helmet Laws will be adhered to during the parade.
14. Checks for the parade entry of $25.00 should be made out to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse
or TCSP. and accompany your entry.
15, Failure to comply with Special Rules & Regulations and instructions from Section Leaders could
result in disqualification, barring of future entry or removal from parade.
16. Failure to attend pre-judging for horse categories will result in entry being disqualified for
awards
17. Horse judging times are as follows:
8:00 a.m. — All Single, Pairs and Youth entries
8:30 a.m. — All Mounted, Sheriffs Posse, Color Guard and all other entries not being judged
at 8:00 a.m.
