In this study, the correlation between the degree of damage in infrastructure, belongings

and properties and status of family disaster preparedness were statistically significant in relations

to disaster plan (p value=0. 004), list of hotline numbers (p value= 0.044), evacuation plan (p

value= 0.001) and contact person during natural disaster (p value = 0.022). In terms of degree of

damage and disaster plan, the families may be prepared specifically those who were victims of

natural disaster who have passed in the City since they knew already of what will be the negative

consequences they will suffer after and majority of the individual answered no with 111 total of

respondents while 99 respondents who answered yes. This means that most of the families were

not prepared in terms of disaster plan. When it comes to degree of damage and list of hotline

numbers, the families may be prepared when disaster occur because they have the list of hotlines

when in necessary to call for. Most of the respondents answered yes which accounts 161

respondents while 49 respondents answered no. this implies that families in Dumaguete City

have list of hotlines whom they can call when there is an emergency.
