Communication (Helium effects)

 Thermal Conductivity
Health
 In Saturation
 After Decompression
Effects of Prolonged Exposure
Excursion Limits
Safety Issues
 Evacuation of divers under pressure
 Recovering an unconscious diver into
the bell
 Diver trapped
 First aid/medical emergencies
 Loss of bell (umbilical parted)
 Vessel movements
 Narcosis
 Oxygen toxicity
 Decompression illness
Diving Support Vessels (DSVs)
DSV can be either:
 Dynamically Positioned (DP 2 minimum)
 4 Point Moored

If DP then fully redundant systems (e.g. Engine

rooms, thrusters, control systems)
Saturation system is either:
 In Built
 Portable

If moonpool launch then specialised handling &

aeration systems are required.
