My Grandad

Listen to and read the passage.

This is my Gran-dad Paul who is sixty- nine years old. He was a school head teacher
in the past, but he is retired now. My grandmother died three years ago, so gran-
dad lives with my parents, my sister Lucy and I. We live in a big detached house in
Oxford, England. My gran-dad is a very fit and healthy man! We spend a lot of time
together. He is a very patient and caring person. When I am sad, he always tickles
me and makes me laugh. At bedtime, he reads me lovely stories and sings to me!
Everyday my gran-dad gets up at six o’clock in the morning, takes a shower,
brushes his teeth and puts on his clothes. Then he makes breakfast for everyone.
At eight thirty, he takes my sister and I to school. While we are at school, he
either plays golf with his friends or does some gardening. In the evenings, he helps
me with my homework or plays a game with us. I love having gran-dad living with us
because he is the only grown-up I know who really understands me.
