Nr 1 Season 2015-2016

Hi all,
The summer 2015 is over and Kockelscheuer is opening soon. Our skaters
have been skating during the summer months in different places because of
the long period of iceless time in Luxembourg. We had skaters training in
Ventspils Latvia, Oberstdorf Germany, Malmö Sweden, Reims France and
Turnhout Belgium.

Our first training session is on Wednesday 16th September, 2015 18:15 for
the competition group and Sunday 20th September from 15:15 for all
others.

I hope to see you all as motivated as always!

All new skaters are mostly welcome!

Nr 2 Season 2015-2016

Skating, training, skating … turn to the left…

We are really close to start the competitions and as traditional after the
Oberstdorf Shorttrack Summercamp Trophy in the beginning of August we
start in the coming weekend in the OPENING GAMES in Turnhout with a good
team. On the ice we have as a newcomer Jimmy Kiesgen (Junior E) and the
others you know, Caroline Murphy, Anna Ruysschaert, Augustin Géré and
Peter Murphy.
We wish them good races and good luck!

The next competitions will be 18.10 Autumn Tournament in Groningen, 23-25.10 Starclass 1 (DC Jun) in Torino,
31.10 Beneluxcup in Liedekerke, 22.11 Beneluxcup in Eindhoven, 27-29.11 Starclass 2 (BAS) in Malmö.

Nr 3 Season 2015-2016

OPENING GAMES in Turnhout was nice, and as you see, Caroline took nicely the third place
for Girls Junior C. We had many skaters doing new records and here are the results:

FANTASTIC PODIUM PLACES FROM GRONINGEN

Caroline and Peter were skating last Sunday in the Autumn Tournament
in Groningen with excellent results:

Congrats to both!

Caroline and Augustin will start on Thursday their trip to the first
Europa Cup STARCLASS competition of this season held in Torino.

Nr 5 Season 2015-2016

AUGUSTIN 2nd IN STARCLASS IN TORINO

What a great start for the Europa Cup season. Augustin skated in all distances PB’s and was
overall 2nd (3rd 500m and 2nd 1500m). His qualification for the final is more or less assured.
Caroline skated also new PB´s and was 13th in Torino. Here are the results:

DOUBLE PODIUM FOR TEAM LUX IN LIEDEKERKE

On 31st October our team had six (6) skaters skating in the Ranking- Beneluxcup in Liedekerke. Our men took nicely the first two
places in Divisie A. Peter was 1st and Max 2nd. In the Kids on Ice Elisa took the 3rd place. We had also nice PB´s on that ice, so just wait
when they go on better ice! Here are the results:

Nr 7 Season 2015-2016

SKATERS HOME FROM EINDHOVEN WITH NEW PB`s

On 22nd November we had six skaters competing in 2e Beneluxcupwedstrijd in Eindhoven.
Augustin was very unlucky in his race and did not finish the 500m. All other skaters
came back with new PB´s or good results! Here are the results:

Tomorrow we have two skaters starting in Starclass 2 (BAS) in Malmö. Luxair took Cecilia & Max yesterday to Copenhagen and from there they
took the train to Malmö where they could immediately join the training with the Swedish team. We regret that Peter could not be in Malmö and
we all wish him fast recovery. The next competition after Malmö is Starclass 3 (DC) in Hasselt starting Friday 4th December and we have three
skaters competing there, Anna as a novice has qualified to the StarClass series and Caroline our hope for a podium and Augustin, the podium
man!
BeneluxcupLuxembourg in Luxembourg is getting closer. We organize the competition on Sunday 20.12.2015. Our new matts have arrived, the

Nr 8 Season 2015-2016

MAX WITH A PB FROM MALMÖ

Last weekend Cecilia and Max were skating in Malmö/ Sweden in the StarClass 2 (BAS) competition. The
competition was in number of skaters starting the biggest StarClass competition ever held. 165 skaters from 54
clubs out of 12 countries were in Malmö. Well done!
Cecilia had bad luck! She was pushed in the 500m HEATs and she fell and could not skate anymore. We wish her
courage and get well soon! Here are the results :

Next Friday Starclass 3 (DC) starts in Hasselt. We have three skaters competing there. Anna as a novice,

NR 9 Season 2015-2016

AUGUSTIN OVERALL 3rd IN EUROPA CUP

Augustin was again one of the top skaters in the STARCLASS 3 (DC) in Hasselt. In overall classification he was
in Men Junior C 3rd ; being 2nd in 1500m, 3rd in 500m and 8th in 1000m.
Caroline and Anna were unlucky but doing nice results. Here are the overall results

NR 10 Season 2015-2016

AUGUSTIN 2nd IN OPEN FRENCH TROPHY

Last weekend in Fontenay-sous-Bois Augustin was again one of the top skaters. In overall classification
he was in Junior C – Ladies- Men 2nd ; being 1st in 777m, 1st in 500m and 7th in 1000m (because of a fall).

NR 11 Season 2015-2016

Last weekend our Club was organizing the first international shorttrack competition here in Luxembourg.
We had 60 skaters who could enjoy the racing athmosfaire in Kockelscheuer. Thank you to all of you for helping this
competition to be an success and also congrats for all skaters for the excellent results and new PB´s & NR´s.

NR 12 Season 2015-2016

MAX PREPARING FOR THE WORLD CUP

Max returned back from the second STARCLASS (BAS) competition from Nottingham. On Friday there were
over 5000 young pupils watching the races. What a feeling when they were screeming the GB TEAM to skate
faster. Max skated well and was in overall classification 23rd ; being 19th in 500m.

LAST BENELUXCUP SKATED WITH STYLE

Last Sunday we had 6 skaters competing in the last BENELUX CUP in Tilburg. Augustin , Jimmy and Edward were
skating new PB´s on the fast ice. Here are the results:

Last weekend the European Shorttrack Championships 2016 were skated in Sotchi. The new European
Champions are Elise Christie (ladies) from UK and Semen Elistratov (men) from Russia. The relay
Champions in men & women went to Netherlands.

Next weekend you can again follow shorttrack from Sofia where the World Junior Championships are skated.
Due to injuries we have not Luxembourg skaters there as planned. Next competition where we have skaters on
the ice from 12th to 14th February in the ISU World Cup in Dordrecht. Before that we have a World Cup in
Dresden which can also be followed live (ISU.ORG). Still note that on 12th February the 2nd Winter Youth Olympic
Games start in Lillehammer where SHORT TRACK is also in the program.

NR 14 Season 2015-2016

BACK FROM WORLD CUP WITH A NEW PB

Last Wednesday we had Cecilia and Max leaving to the last ISU WORLD CUP 2015/2016 in Dordrecht (NED) to
compete with the worlds fastest shorttrackers . First experience was the ISU-Blood screening for all skaters. This
was for Cecilia the first time in a World Cup and also in a competition after the injury. Max made again in a big
competition a new PB. Here are the results:

Cecilia Ladies 500m 29th (from 38 skaters) 1000m 33rd

Max Men 500m 47th (from 55 skaters) 1000m 49th with 1:34.364 PB & NR
Congrats!

On 22 January our skaters Nienke Madden and Jaap Bokhoven were skating the
Alternative 11 city tour on the Weissensee in Austria. In 5h35min they skated
100 km (5 laps each 20 km) so congrats to our LONG (short)trackers!

This Friday Anna, Caroline and Augustin will start in the last Starclass 5 (DC) Europe Cup competition in a brand
new ice rink in Leeuwarden. Augustin is already qualified to the Europa Cup Final in Budapest but we keep the
tumbs up that Caroline will do it as well. LIVE streaming will be provided as usually.

Last Friday the 2nd Winter Youth Olympic Games started in Lillehammer where SHORT TRACK is also in the
program.

NR 16 Season 2015-2016

ALBERTVILLE STARCLASS COMPETITION SKATEDEN

Last Starclass competition for Junior BAS was skated last weekend in Albertville.
Cecilia was very unlucky in the 1500m races and did not get any result. In the end
she was overall 27th and not happy.
Max was not satisfied with the result either and he was overall 19th
CONGRATS!

Next Sunday 6th March we will have the National Championships in Kockelscheuer.
Start of competition at 16:00 You are all mostly welcome!

LUXEMBOURG CHAMPIONSHIPS SKATEDEN

Last Sunday 6th March we had the National Championships in Kockelscheuer.
The result will follow soon by mail and on our page. We had 33 skaters and many
parents and family members watching. Thanks to all!

NR 18 Season 2015-2016

ANNA AND MAX BACK WITH NEW PB´sEN

Anna was skating in Enschede in the Regio Finale last Sunday and she made in 333m a new PB. Saturday and Sunday
Max was skating in the total opposite direction namely in Munich. Max came back with a few new PB´s.

NR 19 Season 2015-2016

AUGUSTIN SKATED AGAIN ON PODIUM IN 500mN

Augustin and Caroline were skating in the Europa Cup Final in Budapest last weekend. Augustin was 3rd in 500m and
overall he took a fantastic 5th position. Congrats!!!!
Caroline was overall 16th after falling in one race!

Same time last weekend Anna and Jimmy were skating in the Speculaas Cup in Hasselt.

NR 20 Season 2015-2016

ANNA AND CAROLINE ON PODIUM IN GENTN

Last weekend we had our lady skaters on ice. Anna and Caroline were skating in the Easter Cup in Gent and Cecilia was
skating in Malmö in the Malmo International Shorttrack Open.
Both Anna and Caroline skated in their category on the podium and took the 3rd place. Anna made two PB´s!
Cecilia was 8th in here Group!

all skaters attending.

Last weekend we had Anna and Caroline skating in the Closing Games in Turnhout .
Anna was in her category 2nd and she made again a PB! Caroline was nicely 3rd

 We organized in Kockelscheuer the first international competition,
Beneluxcup Luxembourg, with over 100 skaters
 We have had skaters in competitions in:
Albertville, Budapest, Dordrecht, Eindhoven, Enschede, Fontenay-sous-Bois, Gent, Groningen, Hasselt (2),
Liedekerke, Leeuwarden, Malmö (2), Munich, Nottingham, Tilburg, Turnhout (2) and Torino
 Our skaters achievements for this season were:
2 GOLD
11 SILVER & Augustin overall 5th place and 3rd in 500m in the Europe Cup Final !
6 BRONZE
2 skaters in World Cup!
Skaters in all six Starclass
competitions and one top
skater in his age class!!!
