The history of slavery in Peru was a very difficult event, because as in the time of Harriet
Tubman, here in this country there was a character named Ramón Castilla, military and
president of Peru, who decreed freedom for black slaves, On December 3, 1854, This liberation
of slaves, produced the complaint of the old masters, for that reason, Ramón Castilla decreed
that the slaves return to the old haciendas to collaborate with the work, this time, as free laborers
and that they would receive the same payment as emigrants. It is a good experience of Harriet
