SERBIA # Victory Day celebration - A commemorative activity in the Belgrade memorial park

League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) wants to congratulate communist parties all
over the world and all anti-fascists on the Victory Day. This year we celebrate the 70th
anniversary of the victory over fascism, a victory for which millions of people gave their lives in
a titanic stuggle against fascism and nazism.

This jubilee is very important, especially today when we are witnesses of historical revisionism
and the revamp of fascism. The rise of fascism wasn't accidental, and it is very important to note
that today we live under the similar circumstances as people who lived in the dawn of fascist
movement. Fascism was created by the ruling class. Its aim was to protect their wealth and to
consolidate and defend capitalism. Fascism is the most desperate and the most violent form of
capitalism. Since we live in a crisis of capitalism today, it is easy to assume what is going to
happen if we don't raise our voices.

In order to give honor to antifascist struggle, SKOJ, traditionally, held a commemorative protest
in Belgrade memorial park. Unfortunately, revisionism in Serbia showed its real face. The
bourgeois state has forbbiden our Communist Party to lay a memorial wreath. Also, we weren't
allowed to enter the park with communist symbols and flags, until the official ceremony was
over. We held on to our dignity and, after the ceremony, gave honor to people who gave their
lives to smash fascism and fascists 70 years ago. Our army, Yugoslav Partisans, was one of the
most effective anti-Nazi resistance movements. We are very proud, and eternally grateful to
these people who have struggled. Also, we especially worship the Red Army, and the help and
contribution of the USSR during the war. The Soviet Union, its people with Stalin as a leader,
the Red Army, the All-Union Communist Party (bolsheviks), deserve gratitude from every single
person who worships the antifascist struggle.

Today, we raised the Red flag triumphantly, just like it was raised over the Reichstag by the Red
Army 70 years ago.
Long live the great anti-fascist victory of the peoples!
Long live the Communist movement!
