How to connect Bluetooth headphones to your PC/Laptop (Windows 7)

Philips does not support the setup and installation of Bluetooth headphones to PC/laptop at any time. The
way of connecting is solely dependent on the internal hardware of your computer.

The below guidance will provide the basic steps on how to connect Bluetooth headphones with a computer
running Windows 7. In case of doubt consult professional IT specialist.

Before you begin

Your computer has to meet certain criteria in order to be able to recognize Bluetooth headphones.

Check if your PC/laptop has:

1. Internal (or external) Bluetooth adapter

2. The Bluetooth adapter has BT 4.0 compliant firmware

Step by Step setup

1. Make sure the Bluetooth functionality on your PC is activated (refer to PC’s manual)
2. Perform the following steps to pair the Bluetooth headphone with your PC:

a. Switch your Bluetooth Headphones OFF

b. Go to START -> Control Panel -> Devices and Printers on your PC
c. Click on Add a device option
d. The following window will appear

e. Switch your Bluetooth headphones ON and activate the pairing mode (refer to user manual on how
to enter pairing mode)
f. After a few seconds PC will detect your BT Headphones
g. Select the detected Bluetooth headphones and click Next

h. After a few seconds the headphones will be added to the list of devices

IMPORTANT: at this point your PC has only recognized the headphones and added them to the list of devices.

The full setup for enabling audio streaming is NOT complete yet.
3. In order to start using your Bluetooth headphones, click on your installed device

4. Tick all boxes and click Connect

5. You can now use your headphones and enjoy streaming music from your PC

Note: If you do not see the above CONNECT button, proceed to Step 9
6. In order to use your BT Headphone for talking (e.g. on Skype), go to Start -> Control Panel -> Sound ->
Recording

7. Select Headset Microphone, click Set Default and then OK

8. You can now use your headphones for talking

9. Updating your Bluetooth hardware driver

If you are here, your PC hardware is equipped with BT hardware which is not yet compatible for streaming
Bluetooth audio. You can successfully use BT keyboards, mice printers etc., but it is not compliant with BT
headphones yet.

Bluetooth hardware driver update might solve the issue, however hardware driver update should be
performed only by someone who has proper IT knowledge. Consult your IT specialist or PC manufacturer.
