1. Develop a spreadsheet program that calculates the nominal moment strength of a
rectangular section and t-beam section (assuming a ≤ hf ). The spreadsheet
should include values of T , a, β1 , c, t , y , φ, Mn , and φMn .

2. Using your develop spreadsheet, compute the design moment strength, φMn with
fc = 32 MPa, fy = 420 MPa and Es = 200, 000 MPa of the following:
 Rectangular section: b = 300 mm, d = 540 mm, and As = 5 − 20 mm rebars.
 T-beam section: bw = 300 mm, d = 540 mm, bf = 1500 mm, hf = 100 mm, and
As = 5 − 20 mm rebars.
