Kadar antibodi Anti Pgl-1 pada penderita kusta tipe multibasiler yang
sedang mengalami reaksi ENL
Abstrak :

An observational study was conducted to measure anti PGL-1 antibody, the specific antibody to M.leprae,
in leprosy patients during the reactional state of ENL. Thirty two Mb leprosy patients that still under MDT
treatment in the Skin and VD clinic of Dr.Soetomo General hospital of Surabaya were included in this
study. They were devided into two group, 16 MB leprosy patients with clinical symptoms of ENL and the
others 16 from sam leprosy type without ENL symptoms. Peripheral blood samples were obtained by
cubital venous puncture and serum was separated by centrifuge. sera samples werw brought to the leprosy
lab. in the tropical disease center of Airlangga Uinivesity. anti PGL-1 level werw measured by indirect
ELISA for three antibody clases (IgM, IgG , and IgA). The means of IgM, IgG and IgA anti PGL-1 antibody
level in ENL patients were 4083.88±1615.21, 2772.66±2046.1 and
1966.98±1468.57 respectively. In non ENL patients the results were 432.11±206.56,
677.1±935.93 and 110.85±108.17 respectively. these finding showed significant
differences in three calses of antibody, between groups of patient (p=0.000, independent t-test). A cut off
value of the antibody level is needed to be determained, to allow the clinicians to do an anticipation or
preventive measurements before the ENL reaction occured
