Engage:

Foods play an important role in the survival of species. Foods give organisms energy to carry out the
many activities we do each day. Organisms are able to obtain energy from the foods they eat through
digestion.
Food must be broken down into nutrients y a process called digestion. The breakdown of food into
simpler substance for use by the body is the role of the digestive system.

Explore:

Ok class, so I want you to group yourselves into 6. Each group will be given a part of the digestive system
and you will give its function and by using the arrows, you will describe the path that food takes through
digestive system by means of dialogue or script.

What is your favourite food?

Did you mouth-water as you thought about your favourite food?

 The tongue has special sense cells or taste buds which help you to select the food you like.

 Aid in digestion by producing bile.
What about Pancreas?
 Produce pancreatic juice which is the mixture of digestive system.
