REFLECTION: Patterns, Fibonacci sequence, and Golden Ratio

Mathematics is all around us. Everything we see and anything we do in our

life involves math. Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the
world cannot move an inch. There are countless examples of mathematical patterns
in nature such as the Fibonacci sequence and the Golden ratio. To fully understand
and appreciate the nature of such existence in our world, we were grouped and
were given assigned categories to elaborate on how it used and its importance to
the world.
Throughout the different multimedia presentations, my classmates
successfully expounded the patterns, the Fibonacci sequence, and the golden ratio
interactively. I’ve learnt that Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which is
the sum of two preceding numbers. It can be used to model or describe an
amazing variety of phenomena, in mathematics and science, art and nature. The
Golden ratio on the other hand is special number approximately equal to 1.618
that appears many times in geometry, science, and architecture. Musical
instruments were also comprehended in its relationship to mathematics.
