There are a number of modems that are compatible with windows computer. The modems
can be broadly classified into wired and wireless modems. The wired modems are the
most common modems for the windows computer. The device will have the input cable
from the operator and then the output would be through an Ethernet cable. The cable
can be directly connected to the system to get internet or can be connected to a
router to get wireless internet. Now there are modems with built in wireless
capability also. The other kind of modem is the wireless USB modem. These modems
usually work on CDMA or GSM technology. They just need to be connected to the USB
slot of the computer and can access the internet. They are portable modems.
