CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Information is a vital and an indispensable component of any academic

environment. It makes for effectiveness in any academic system. Both faculty and

students need to use information daily in their various academic endeavors. For

decades, faculty and students have actively used wide variety of different resources as

their main information source.

We now live in the information age where access to many Internet resources is

just a few clicks away. The Internet is a technology, which has gained more popularity in

many countries across the world and Ghana, is no exception. The Internet as a medium

of communication and source of information has enabled students, researchers,

business information seekers and information professionals to access information to

enhance their work and communicate effectively.

Statement of the problem

This study is aimed to find out :

1. What resources are used by DBA-A students of Notre Dame of Kidapawan

College ?

1.1 type of subject

1.2 kind of resource

2. How much do they spend in acquiring this said resource ?

 2.1 Is there any difference on how much the student spends depending on

the subject ?

2.2 Is there any significance on how much students spend on resources ?

2.3 Is there significance on how the students allocate their budget ?

3. The frequency of how they use this resources

4. Does this affect their academic performance
