Zodeuco dba Shera beusa SUMMARY This work deals with the problem of the determination of the natural frequencies of transverse vibrations of beams of variable cross section, in particular beams with section heigh varying according to a polynomial law. Ritz method is used for the determination of the na- tural frequencies, due to its rapid convergence. The method of treatment of the problem, permits a determination of any of the natural frequencies using auto- matic programming because it does not limit the number of terms of the serie solution to be used.0 principal problema abordado néste trabalho @ o da determinagao das frequéncias naturais de vibragoes transversais de vigas de segao transversal variavel se gundo Leis polinomiais. Este mé todo @ muito utilizado quando na determinagao de auto-va lores (frequéncias) e fornece uma convergéncia extrema - mente rapida. 0 modo de tratar o problema, permite a determina gao de qualquer frequéncia natural, mediante um programa automatico, tendo em vista que o método foi aplicado con siderando-se um nimero infinito de térmos na série solu- ¢fo.
