Outline: What was happening by the time I was born

Topic: Events which occurred in the same day that I was born.

General Purpose: To inform.

Specific purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience should know about the
events that occurred the same day that the speaker was born.

Central idea: The day I was born, some people go to prison and others died.

Introduction: It is incredible to think that many things are happening at the same
time in this world. Imagine that at this moment, a lot of things are
happening and here is where I asked you something you might
find interesting: Do you know what was happing during the time
when you were born?
I do. I made a research in order to find some events that occurred
at the same moment that I breathed for the first time and here I
show some of them:

Body: 1. First event

a. The death of six people in a cinema

b. The end of the trial.
c. The final judgement of the judge.

2. Second event

a. The death of an Opera singer.

b. Characteristics about the singer.

c. Relevant anecdotes about the singer.

Transition sentence: As we can see, those events are very interesting and they
happened on January 4th in 1996. I got one more event and
it happened in the same year.

3. Third event

a. The opening of a new division of a Tv channel

b. Characteristics about Nickelodeon

Conclusion: What I want you know is to research what happened the same day
that you were born and discover what was happening in the world
at that time. Trust me, you won’t believe what you will find.
