Procedure to create an OP UA Server on a Comfort panel and

test it on OPC Scout V10

(SIMATIC NET V12 SP2)
#1 Go to « Runtime settings » of the Comfort panel
#2 Go to « Service » and check « Operate as OPC-UA server »
#3 Go to « OPC settings »
For test, uncheck « Sign and encrypt » and check « None »

#4 Download to HMI
#5 Open OPC Scout V10 and create a project
#6 Add an UA Server (Offline server)
#7 Enter the URL of the OPC UA server
Ex : opc.tcp://192.168.0.5:4870
4870 reference to
IP address of HMI

Adjust security mode as in TIA Portal (None for our example)

#8 Press on « Connect server »

This message may appear, click on « Yes ».

#9 There is a confirmation we are connect to server
#10 Add tag by pressing on « ... »
#11 Choose « um:HmiWebLink:VarProvider » in « Namespace Url »
#12 Enter the name of the tag as in TIA Portal
#13 Press on « Monitoring ON »
