"The youth is the hope of our future." According to our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the child can be
described as a minor, someone who is not old enough. Young people should be seen only in the areas
where they should be. First, their home where they sleep and rest. The second is the school as their
second home where they should be studying and learning. Finally, the street as their playground where
they play and enjoy their childhood. Children are people who are not mature enough. However, at the
present time, many young people are no longer called menor de edad because of their actions. Many
young people in the society do the things only adults should do. Due to poverty, at an early age, young
people start working to help their families. Work that is not appropriate for a child. Work is the job of a
person to earn a living. In this definition, we can say that it is for older people and an inappropriate activity
for a child. But there are many youths forced to do something that should be done only by an adult. Many
young people struggle because of poverty. People lack financial funds, education, and basic needs. Many
parents cannot provide and support for their family. In this case, children decide to work for the family.
Children work on the streets where credentials and other documents are not needed. What are the jobs
that these children are currently doing? Trading on the street, wiping of shoes in public transportations,
asking for alms, and selling. These are some examples of the work that young people do nowadays.
Street vendors have many different types. Selling goods, selling tulips, selling flowers, and retailing of rugs.
Simple jobs that can be done by an adult but are done by young people.
