Non-Governmental organizations, commonly referred to as NGOs, are usually non-profit and
sometimes international organizations independent of governments and international governmental organization that are active in humanitarian, educational, health care, public policy, social human rights, environmental, and other areas to effect changes according to their objective. Samarthanam works for the empowerment of the person with disabilities and the underserved. Samarthanam caters to people in need by providing plethora of services including quality education, accommodation, nutritious food, vocational training, sports and placement based rehabilitation. The initiative of Samarthanam strives towards creating opportunities for them to keep pace with the rest of the society. To create employment opportunities for disabled under parisara (The dry waste management program) According to (Ramamurthy et. al., 2014) The dry-waste characterization study show that the residential dry waste consisted mainly of paper (66%) This study is undertaken to utilize the dry waste (papers) and provide livelihood opportunities to disabilities. The project involves making of handmade paper bags from dry waste under the concept of ‘recycling and up cycling’. Through PARISARA project, disabilities are provided with employment and ease of working from their respective hostel, the product is sold in medical shops. The main source of information of the study is based on the data collection of both primary and secondary data. This project builds the creative employments for disabled as well as keeps up the Samarthanam its brand.
