QUES: what are the deviations of actual refrigerating cycle to simple

saturated cycle? ( 07 marks)

The main deviations between the theoretical cycle and actual cycle as
follows:
1. The vapour refrigerant leaving the evaporator is in superheated state.
2. The compressor of refrigerant is neither isentropic nor polytropic.
3. The liquid refrigerant before entering the expansion valve is subcooled
in the condenser.
4. The pressure drops in the evaporator and condenser.

QUES: prove that affect of subcooling increases the cop of a VCRS? (8 )

OR, Discuss the effect of subcooling on VCRS? Would you desire large
subcooling and cooling.

 In some ways, a subcooler behaves like a suction line HX. Desired

increase in capacity is achieved by means of subcooling the condenser
liquid.
 Another advantage of subcooling is the removal of any residual liquid
that leaves the evaporator and thus protect the compressor.
 It also reduce the tendency toward the formation of flash gas at the
entrance of the capillary tube.
