Aircraft Description
‘Trim Systems:
‘The aircraft is fitted with a manually operated rudder and elevator trim.
Cow! Flaps’
‘Are mechanically operated by means of a lever on the right hand side of the
coatrol pedestal
Fuel Drain Valves:
‘Ate positioned under each wing and also via the fuel strainer drain on the
left side of the engine cowling.
Engine Instruments:
Engine operation is monitored by the following instruments:
- oil pressure guage;
= oil temperature guage;
- cylinder head temperature guage tachometer, and
= manifold pressure guage.
Oil Level Indicator:
Ts located at the rear of the engine on the left side, The dipstick and filler
are accessible through doors on the engine cowling.
Electrical System:
Electrical energy is supplied by a 14 volt DC system powered by an engine
driven 60 amp alternator. The 12 volt battery is located in the tailcone aft
of the baggage compartment wall

Smoothly apply full power
Rotate at 50 - SSkts
Allow aircraft to fly itself off the ground
Climb away at 75kts
‘At 300" flaps up and 85 - 90kts
Power 23" 2450rpm
Check temps & pressure
Crosswind:
Flaps 20°
Aileron into wind
Smoothly apply full power
Lt nosewheel at higher than normal speed (70kts)
LAt off positively to avoid aircraft settling back onto the runway while
drifting and yaw aircraft intowind. Track out on runway centreline
Proceed as for normal takeoff
Performance:
Flaps 20°
Hold brakes on - apply full power - release brakes
Obstacle clearance speed (Refer individual manual)
Lift off positively
‘When obstacle is cleared, lower the nose
At safe height, retract flaps
Power 23" 2450rpm
Check temps & pressure
SoftRough Field:
laps 20°
‘Smoothly apply full power, release brakes.
Raise nosewheel as soon as possible
‘Aim to be airborne at 5Skts
Fly level to increase speed
{At safe height, raise flaps

pressures.
22"mp. 2300rpm up to 5000’ at 125kts
Cowls closed, lean mixture (Refer pilots' handbook
for accuracy and EGT)
Note: Cowl flaps may be partially opened if necessary to maintain oil &
cylinder head temps within the normal operating range.
Circuit Area: Suggested power setting 18"mp 2300rpm with 90 - 100kts
Cruise Descent: TOP D checks - completed
Reduce power to obtain desired rate of descent
Recommended rate 500'min
Approach & Landing:
Refer to the performance charts in the flight manual for accurate field
length and safety speed.
Normal Landing:
Base: Carby heat hot
Reduce power
Pitch full fine

5) Airspeed - 100 KIAS
(Ef fire not extinguished, increase glide
speed to find airspeed, which will
provide incombustible mixture),
6) Forced landing - EXECUTE
Electrical Fire In Flight:
Engine Fire: Duriny Start on Ground
If Engine Fails to Start:
1) Master - OFF
2) llother switches (Except IGN) - OFF |
3) Vents / Cabin Air /Heat - CLOSED
4) Fire extinguisher activate (if available)
1) Continue cranking if engine starts
