Voleyball History

The game of voleyball, originally called “Mintonette” was invented in 1895 by

William G. Morgan after the invention of basketball, only four Years before.
William designed voleyball to be a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis
and handball.
The first voleyball net was borrowed from tennis game.
The offensive style and spiking was first demonstrated in the Philipines in 1916.
Over years that followed, it became clear that tournaments and rules were
needed, so the United States Volleyball Association (USVBA, now USA
Volleyball) was formed in 1928.
The game consists of two teams of six players who have to play their strategy to
make the ball touch the ground and score 25 points to get a set, if you want to
win you have to get 3 sets, and obviously you have to prevent the enemy team
to score.
