KNOW THE TRUTH: BE SET FREE

John 8, kung babasahin natin ang John chapter 8, ang center point
is about truth. That is the theme of Jon 8, know the truth, and be
set free.

What is truth? Why is it so important?

Freedom. What has truth something to do with freedom? What is

true freedom. And then the link between truth and freedom is
Jesus.

So truth is important. Even when it comes to relationship. I’m going

to 711, don’t lock the door, pagbalik ko, naka-lock ang pinto, what
would you expect me to do at that moment? May narealize ako,
kapag may hindi magandang nangyari sa’yo, huwag kang
manghusga ng kapwa mo. Now, I was tempted to judge,
sesermonan ko na sana. Dahil sa isip ko, pinagsarahan ako ng
pinto. But wait, may tinuturo ang Diyos sa atin, when
something bad happened, don’t judge immediately, what
should you do? Ask, communicate. Eto na, hindi pa la siya.

Now imagine, if I jumped into conclusion, I spoke to her “hoy anong

problema mo?” away iyan.

Now listen carefully, I realized that truth is very important. When

people tell me, when they accuse somebody, when they accuse
me, they accuse us, or they accuse other people and they come
to me, “pastor, alam mo ang ginawa sa akin ng taong iyan bla bla”

Proverbs 18:17
17 Ang unang pahayag ay inaakalang tama, hangga't hindi
naririnig, tanong ng kabila.
When you hear one story, don’t jump to conclusion, because in our
perspective, you tell me your perspective but let us hear the other
side.

So when a person accused of somebody about anything, what

must you do? Don’t jump into conclusion. What must you do?
Listen, ask , find out the truth, listen to both sides, huwag kang
manghusga kaagad.

Hindi ko Makita cp ko…. My mind began to think, “paano niya

magagawa sa akin ang bagay na ito?”pinaaral ko siya, tinuruana
ko siya, pinakain ko siya, tapos nanakawan ako? How can they
steal? Nang Makita ko na siya, nagkaroon ako ng ibang outlook,
minsan kung ano yung panghuhusga mo tumutugma sa kilos ng
hinuhusghan mo, kaya minsan akala mo tama ka, pero mali pala.
Mind is so powerful. Minsan nakakapagtahi-tahi ka, na minsan
pati ikaw mismo mapapaniwala.

Wrong thinking-wrong feeling-wrong behavior

Right thinking-right thinking-right behavior

If the mind is thinking at a wrong thing, it’s hard to have a proper

response. Would you believe it, nakita ko sa wakas ang cellphone
ko, sinong nanguha? Ako nasa bulsa ko pala. Kaya nung nakita
ko ulit, praise God, ang babait niyo pala.

Can I tell you something, “Satan would like you to believe what
is not true to cause divisions and to cause problems”.

It is important for us to thnk properly, right thinking, we produce,

right emotions, and right emotions, right behavior. Wrong thinking
will never produce the right behavior. And that is why the Bible is
important. Kaya sabi ko sa mga New Breed, aralin ninyo ang
Bible, if you are thinking something wrong about God, something
wrong about life, you will have a problem.
So the bible id telling us Jesus in John 8

John 8:31-32
31Sinabi naman ni Jesus sa mga Judiong naniniwala sa
kanya, Kung tinutupad ninyo ang aking aral, kayo nga'y tunay
na mga alagad ko; 32 makikilala ninyo ang katotohanan, at ang
katotohanan ang magpapalaya sa inyo.

Notice, ang mga katagang ito ay pinapahayag ni Kristo sa mga

taong naniniwala sa kanya. Jesus is never impressed with
numbers, he wanted to be sure that these believers are true
believers. Therefore he is now giving us an understanding of who
is a true believer. Anong sabi niya?

The grammar is very clear, he is not talking, “maniwala ka muna

and unti-unti you will be my disciple”

As far as Jesus is concerned, a true believer is a disciple. A true

believer is committed to the word of God. A true believer is
committee to the word of God, therefore, that person is a disciple.
Therefore, a disciple is a true believer.

Now, possible bang maniwala ka o manampalataya ka, pero hindi

mo sinusunod ang salita ng Diyos. Technically, pwede mong
Sabihin, Yes and No.

Example: ang demonyo naniniwala sa Diyos pero demonyo hindi

tumutupad sa salita ng Diyos.

Malinaw ang sinasabi ni Kristo dito, na may totoong alagad niya at

hindi totoong alagad niya.
Kaya ang pagkakaiba, Kung tinutupad ninyo ang aking aral, kayo
nga'y tunay na mga alagad ko, ibig Sabihin, ginagawa mo,
tinutupad mo.

makikilala ninyo ang katotohanan, at ang katotohanan ang

magpapalaya sa inyo.

In other words, you will experience truth. So ang tanong, ano ang
truth? Remember, this is very very important. Because truth will
impact yourlife, it will impact your future.

My friend, truth matters, may kati-kati, nagself-medicate, that

allergy kept coming back, until I analyze it further until I
discovered, according to the doctor, there was an insect, called
kagaw, maliit na kuto na nangingitlog, no wonder hindi sila
gagaling until mamatay yung mga kagaw. You got to know the
truth, “ano ba ang problema”.

If you don’t want to follow the truth, you want to think that truth
does not exist, magkakaproblema ka.

What is truth? The word truth is used 200x in the Bible.

Characteristics of Truth

Truth is Factual
When the Bible talks about a person named Jesus, who claimed to
be the son of God who died on the cross and rose again, you need
to check, is it factual? Is there such place called Bethlehem where
Jesus was born? Icheck mo, meron!

Truth must correspond to reality

Are there documents that talk about people who were crucified on
the cross? Yes! Are there documents coming from non-christian
source that says that Jesus was crucified, in other words, it
corresponds to reality, that is truth.

Ilalapag ko ang tablet sa pulpit, wala namang pulpit, nasa

imahinasyon lang. Hindi pwede iyon, truth must correspond to
reality.

Truth is not invented

Hindi inembento lang.

Truth is not by majority decision

Just because many believe into something does not make it truth.
Just because many do not believe does not make it not truth either.

Truth is timeless; universal

Like gravity. You don’t invent gravity , you discover truth.

Truth can be painful

You know why? because sometimes you refuse to accept the
truth. But it is more painful when you do not know the truth. Sooner
or later, there will be consequences.

Truth is narrow and exclusive

Anong ibig Sabihin nito?

John 14:6
6 Sumagot si Jesus, Ako ang daan, ang katotohanan, at
ang buhay. Walang makakapunta sa Ama kundi sa
pamamagitan ko.

Do you notice how exclusive it is? Jesus said, ako ang daan, ang
katotohanan, ako ang buhay. Walang makakapunta sa Ama kundi
sa pamamagitan ko. That is a dogmatic statement, ibig Sabihin,
ang pahayag na iyan ay nag-iisa at walang katumbas na
katotohanan.
4x4=16. Sure? Anong problema sa inyo? Bakit hindi 15.5? bakit
hindi 16? Ang dami-daming numero sa mundo, bakit ba natin
pinipilit na 4x4=16? Bakit napaka tumpak? Hindi ba 16.5? what
about 17? Favorite ko ang 12, bakit hindi pwede ang 12? Because
the nature of truth is narrow.

Kung sasabihin natin na lahat ng religion ay pareho lang. that is

illogical. Because all religion cannot be the same. When they say,
“naniniwala kami dito, that’s true for you” “naniniwala ka diyan?
That’s truth for you!” “I believe in Jesus, that’s truth for you!” “You
believe in Budha, that’s truth for you!” Now look at those
statements, paanong lahat iyon ay totoo? Hindi pwede. Because
the nature of truth, it must correspond to reality , it has to be
consistent, no contradiction.

Truth matters. Today, you may not realize this, pumunta kayo kung
saan-saan, most of them would start telling you, there is no such
thing as absolute truth. “kung anong pinaniniwalaan mo, thast good
for you, kanya-kanya naman tayo ng paniniwala”. Who are you to
tell me what is right and what is wrong? Who are you to tell me
what is truth and what is not truth? Nakikita niyo na po ang
problema natin? This meesage is very important, to you, to your
future, to your family, to your children, to your discples, and for the
people you want to help.

According to Jesus, You will know the truth and truth shall set you
free.

“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t
true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”
Truth is very important, it affects you. No wonder Jesus tells us to
become his follower because there is a real problem, there is a
real enemy.

John 8:44
44 Ang diyablo ang inyong ama! At ang kagustuhan niya ang
ibig ninyong gawin. Noon pa man ay mamamatay-tao na siya.
Hindi siya pumanig sa katotohanan kailanman, sapagkat
walang puwang sa kanya ang katotohanan. Likas sa kanya
ang magsinungaling, sapagkat siya'y talagang sinungaling, at
siya ang ama ng kasinungalingan.

The Bible wants you to know that our enemy Satan is a lier. And
the only way he can control you is to give you lies, and the moment
you believe His lies you become his pawn. You are now under his
control, because you believe something that is not true. Therefore
, the bible tells us that the real battle is in our mind.

If you don’t know the truth, if you do not stand for what is right and
wrong, you are doomed to believe just anything.

Example of the lies of Satan, how can he influence people?

Genesis 3:1, 4-5

1 Ang ahas ang pinakatuso sa lahat ng hayop na nilikha ng
Panginoong Yahweh. Isang araw tinanong nito ang babae,
"Totoo bang sinabi ng Diyos na huwag kayong kakain ng
anumang bungangkahoy sa halamanan?"

Malalaman mong inaatake ka na ng demonyo sa tuwing

magdududa ka sa salita ng Diyos. And then he gous to the next
step, he wants you to deny the word of God. Satan told Eve,

4 Ngunit sinabi ng ahas, "Hindi totoo iyan, hindi kayo

mamamatay!"
Ano bang sabi ng Diyos? Sabi ng Diyos pwede mong kainin lahat
ng andoon, chico, balimbing, kamyas, lahat na pwede, except!
Yung pinagbabawal na fruit. Why? because we are moral beings,
God could have make us robots, but God gave us the power to
choose. Lahat pwede, except one. The day you eat it, mamamatay
kayo.

5 "Sinabi lang iyan ng Diyos, sapagkat alam niyang kung

kakain kayo ng bunga niyon ay makakaunawa kayo. Kayo'y
magiging parang Diyos at malalaman ninyo ang mabuti at
masama."

Ito ang paboritong kasinungalingan ng Demonyo, that God is

selfish, that God is not after your interest, that’s why God doesn’t
want you to eat because you are going to be like him therefore, he
is depriving us of what is due us. God is not good, kainin mo at
magiging happy ka.

And that my friend, that temptation continues today. That God is

not really after your interest, that if you keep on obeying God,
cocontrollin ka lang ng Diyos, or cocontrollin ka lang ng pastor mo.
Be free! Gawin mo lahat ng gusto mo! Para maging happy ka
because ayaw talaga ng Diyos na maging happy ka! And my friend
ang kaisipang iyan ang lumalason sa atin.

I was tempted to say, that God is not really good. He could have
aalowed me to pass, pero hindi niya ginawa. And I realize that is a
lie from Satan. Satan will attack you thinking, and once you believe
his lie you will be under his control. No wonder, the Bible tells us,
makikilala ninyo ang katotohanan, at ang katotohanan ang
magpapalaya sa inyo.

Let me give you some examples of Satan’s lies:

1. Ginagawa naman ng lahat/karamihan- total ginagawa
naman nilang lahat, okey na rin! That’s a lie, hindi komo
ginagwa ng marami, nagiging tama na.

2. Gawin mo kung ano ang magpapaligaya sa’yo- YOLO-

You only live once. Do whatever make you happy. Kung iyan
ang magpapaligaya sa’yo, gawin mo. YOLO. Hindi minsan
iniisip ang kinabukasan. Ubos ubos biyaya.

3. More Money will Make you Happy- some of you may not
realize your belief system. But your behavior will determine
what you believe in. Your behavior tells me what you really
believe in. Remember, Right thinking, Right feelings, Right
behavior. Wrong thinking, Wrong behavior.

4. Kung ano ang nasa puso mo, sundin mo- if you are in-
love, follow your heart… kung liligaya ka sa piling ng iba… Let
me tell you something, marriage is a commitment, and as a
commitment, true love is more than a feeling. But we are
deceived, hindi natin alam ang true love, hindi natin
naiitindihan ang marriage, that’s why andaming
nagkakahiwalay, ang kawawa, mga anak.

5. Hindi ka Mahal ng Diyos- this is a lie. Satan wants you

believe that you have done something na napakasama, at
hindi ka karapatdapat sa pagmamahal ng Diyos. Or because
my problema ka, hindi ka na mahal ni Lord. Or kung mahal
talaga ako ni Lord, bakit ang hirap-hirap namin, bakit broken
family kami. Listen to me, God loves you. Do you believe
with all your heart that Jesus loves you? But Satan will lie to
you, dadayain ka, “kung mahal ka ng Diyos , bakit ka
naghihirap? Bakit ka nasasaktan?” You have to know the
 truth, many times God will sacrifice my physical comfort to
transform my character. For God character is more important
than physical comfort. Physical comfort is temporal, for God
, what is important is eternal. Paano mo mapapatunayan na
mahal tayo ng Diyos? John 3:16

So my friend truth is important. How do you protect yourself from

the lies of satan?

Psalm 119:160
160 Ang buod ng kautusa'y batay sa katotohanan, ang lahat
ng tuntunin mo'y pawang walang katapusan.

Gods commandment is truth, God’s commandment is timeless.

The Bible tells us , all your commandments are truth.

Psalm 119:151, 165

151 Ngunit ikaw, O Yahweh, ay malapit sa piling ko,

ang pangakong binitiwan mo sa akin ay totoo.

165 Ang magmahal sa utos mo'y mapayapa yaong

buhay,matatag ang taong ito at hindi na mabubuwal.

If you submit yourself to the word of God, you will encounter real
peace. Today, people are looking for peace. Paano? They try to
brainwash you into thinking “sin” ay old fashioned concept.
Brainwashin ka na isipin mo na “huwag ka nang maguilty” there is
no such thing as guilt. You are just condemning your self.

But the truth is this, no matter what they tell you, because you are
created by God and you are created for God, if you sin, you will
have no peace. Kahit anong gawin mo, pwede kang magpretend
na may kapayapaan ka, pwede kang magkunwaring busy para
malimutan ang mga bagay-bagay, mag inom ka para malimutan
ang problema. But at the end of the day, if you don’t have peace,
you have no peace. How do you have peace? Its only in truth!
About Jesus. When you realize that Jesus loves you, that he died
for you, when you have an encounter with jesus, you will begin to
experience real peace. But other than that, there is no peace. And
that’s why its important for you to hear this message.

Titus 1:2
at bigyan sila ng pag-asa sa buhay na walang hanggan. Bago
pa likhain ang sanlibutan, ang buhay na ito'y ipinangako na ng
Diyos na kailanma'y hindi sinungaling.

God is truth. What he says, he will do, what he promise, he will

fulfill. You cantrust God completely. That is the truth.

Satan will tell you God is not true. LG, you need to know the Lord
because truth freedom, they go together.

And what brings them together, alang iba kundi si Kristo.

John 8:31-32
31 Sinabi naman ni Jesus sa mga Judiong naniniwala sa
kanya, Kung tinutupad ninyo ang aking aral, kayo nga'y tunay
na mga alagad ko; 32 makikilala ninyo ang katotohanan, at
ang katotohanan ang magpapalaya sa inyo.

Meno.

What the Bible tells us to know the truth, we need to abide,

kailangan nating tuparin ang salita ng Diyos. Mamuhay tayo sa
salita ng Diyos. Not just know, hindi lang dapat alam mo, kailangan
ipamuhay mo. Tuparin mo, sundin mo. I must build my life,
anchored on the word of God to abide. Abide in the word God, kung
minamaltrato ka, respond with the word of God.

makikilala ninyo ang katotohanan, at ang katotohanan ang

magpapalaya sa inyo.

Tignan ninyo ang sequence, first, abide in the word of God, tuparin
mo, sundin mo, you trust God. And then, malalaman mo ang
katototohanan, it is future tense, the word malalaman, experiential,
mararanasan mo, you become intimate, you will begin to know
the truth, and then, ang katotohanan, ang magpapalaya sa’yo.

Now, when jesus gave this short message to the Jews, hindi nila
naitindihan. Why? They answered him,

John 8:33
3 Sumagot sila, Kami ay mula sa lahi ni Abraham, at
kailanma'y hindi kami naalipin ninuman. Paano mo
masasabing palalayain kami?
These people are blind, bulag sila, History tells us, the Jewish
people were enslaved by the Assyians, they were enslaved by
the Babylonians, they were enslaved by the Romans, and yet
sasabihin nila, “hindi pa kami naalipin ninuman” . Ano ang
pinagsasasabi nila?

Friends, many times you are in denial. You don’t know the truth
and Jesus shocked them. Anong response ni Jesus?

John 8:34
Sumagot si Jesus, Pakatandaan ninyo: ang namumuhay sa
kasalanan ay alipin ng kasalanan.

Pinupuntirya na ngayon ni Kristo ang totoong isyo. Truth---

Freedom. What is freedom? Maraming tao ang nagsasabing
“malaya ako!” But Jesus is telling you, hindi ka totoong Malaya.
Let me give you an example kung ano ba ang sinasabi ni Cristo,
but before I give you example, ano ba ang ibig Sabihin ng
freedom? True freedom.

True Freedom

True freedom is the desire and ability to do God’s will, and to

be all that God has designed you to be. It is the desire and
ability to do good and say no to sin.

You can say to what is good, and you can say no to what is sinful.
TF is becoming all what God wants you to be. Gusto ng Diyos
maging Malaya tayo, you know why, because we have counterfeit
freedom.

Counterfeit Freedom is thinking you can do whatever you feel

like doing, without any consequences. No rules. No
Boundaries.

Many young people today are believeing, Malaya ako,gagawin ko

lahat ng gusto ko. My friend, with that mindset, it becomes slavery.

Example, alak, yosi, droga, sige magpakalasing ka, magyosi ka,

magdroga ka, pero ano ang mangyayari?? You becom addicted.

Some of us, we fail to realize that we are in a bondage. And God

came to set you free.

Pornography
Computer Games- MineCraft, according to research, New York
Post, Digital Heroine, in particular yung MineCraft, addiction to
computer games is just as bad if not worse than Heroine. They
looked at the brain pattern, and they discovered heroine vs
minecraft, parehong pareho. The problem with addiction, hindi mo
aaminin na naadik ka na. walang aamin na adik. But computer
games, the internet is very addictive. Addicted sa FB, so attached
sa CP, its called addiction.
Social Media
Relationships- we are becoming too dependent, yung inaakala mo
kailangan mo siya para mabuhay. Some of us are addicted,
dependent on people.

magulang, walang kaalam-alam. Kunin mo CP/Kunin mo Tablet,
tignan mo paano magreact.

Friends, the Bible is very clear. God wants you to be free, to be

all God wants you to become.

To be free is to be able to function the way God designed you to

be, to reach your full potential. But Satan is a lier, He wants to
destroy you, that’s why bibigyan ka niya ng false truth to enslave
you. And pag enslave ka na, hindi ka na free.

Now, this is the most sophisticated form of Slavery.

Materialsm

Bitterness
-galit ka sa tao, up to now bitter,
Anger
Pride
-counseling, kaya ka laging nasasaktan , sensitive ka, you have a
pride issue, mapride ka, nagalit sa akin, bakit mo ba sinasabing
mapride ako, hindi mo ba alam, mapagpakumbaba na ako? You
see, ang pride, hindi napapansin ng taong mapride. We don’t see
it, you need to know the truth and the truth will set you free.

Worry
-ito iyong akala natin na okey o normal lang, pero hindi pala.
Nagaalala ka sa future, family at kung saan-saan pa. akala okey
lang, nag-aalala din sila, dahil bakit hindi sila nagaalala.

Now when Jesus tells us, do not worry, at tayo ay nag-aalala, ayun
sophisticated form of disobedience.

You have to understand , know the truth, and the truth will set you
free.

Elephant, baby, rope around the leg, it cannot get out, kapag
lumaki na, gagalaw lang, makakalas na, but it does not. Why? It
has been brainwashed into thinking that I am tied, and I cannot
get away.

And that my friend, Satan has accomplished that in your life.

Before coming to Christ, natali tayo sa maraming kasalanan.”wala
na di na ako makawala dito”

The Bible tells you, and this is a good news for you,

John 8:36
36 Kayo'y tunay na lalaya kapag pinalaya kayo ng Anak.

Because Jesus break the bondage of sin. However, that bondage,

even though it is not there, it can still control you, because the
mind is so powerful.Lies can control you. And some of us are living
in a defeated life. You don’t have joy, no peace, you are in a
bondage. Wala ka na dapat dun. Pinalaya ka na.

Solution: Ang Anak, si Kristo ang magpapalaya sayo. At yan mismo

ang dahilan bakit kailangan mong makilala si Kristo. Jesus is the
most important.

Why?

John 8:12
Muling nagsalita si Jesus sa mga Pariseo. Sinabi niya, Ako
ang ilaw ng sanlibutan. Ang sumusunod sa akin ay
magkakaroon ng ilaw sa kanyang buhay at di na lalakad sa
kadiliman.

You and I need a light.

Anong sabi sa atin, nasa dilim tayo, hindi tayo nakakakita,

brainwashed ang maraming tao ngayon. No absolute truth daw.
Can you imagine, ni hindi na natin madistinguish ngayon ang lalaki
at babae. Im a girl, anong sasabihin mo, hindi no! Pero ngayon,
brainwashed na. “kung anong ikakaligaya mo” okey lang!!! Ladies
toilet papasok lalake. With that kind of mentality, tayo po ay
pumapasok sa napakalaking problema, napakalaking gulo. And
satan is successful today.

Tama, Loving God, Loving People tayo, but we will not sacrifice the
truth. And the Bible tells us,

Muling nagsalita si Jesus sa mga Pariseo. Sinabi niya, Ako

ang ilaw ng sanlibutan.

Ano ang kondisyon? Ang sumusunod sa akin ay magkakaroon ng

ilaw sa kanyang buhay at di na lalakad sa kadiliman.
Notice, bakit si Jesus ang sagot sa ating bondages? Because hindi
lang liwanag si Jesus,

John 8:51
51 Pakatandaan ninyo: ang tumutupad ng aking salita ay
hindi mamamatay kailanman.

Can you imagine, Jesus is claiming, the He is the Lord of Life.

Friend, that is the truth that you need to understand. You will
know the truth, and the truth will set you free, na sa gitna ng
Katotohanan at Kalayaan, ay si Kristo. His word, who he is. And
Jesus claimed to be the Lord of Life.

Anong sagot ng mga Judio?

John 8:52
52 Sinabi ng mga Judio, Ngayo'y natitiyak naming
sinasapian ka nga ng demonyo. Namatay si Abraham at ang
mga propeta, ngunit sinasabi mong hindi mamamatay
kailanman ang sinumang tumutupad ng iyong aral.

Buang ka, loko-loko ka. Jesus claimed isang katangian na

katangian lang ng Diyos. Now baliw ka, crazy ka.

Noong nasa lupa pa siya, hindi siya nag apologize sa mga claims
niya, He wanted to make sure that the people can know who He is.

John 8:53
Mas magaling ka pa ba kaysa sa aming amang si Abraham? Siya'y
namatay, gayundin ang mga propeta. Ano ba ang palagay mo sa
iyong sarili?

Sabi Ni jesus, paniwalaan niyo ako at hindi kayo mamamatay.

“Sino ka!!!!?”

56 Natuwa ang inyong amang si Abraham nang malaman

niyang makikita niya ang araw ng aking pagdating. Nakita nga
niya ito at siya'y nagalak.

Paano siya nakita ni Abraham? By faith the Bible tells us, in your
seed, in your offspring, all the world will be blessed, because of
your descendant. God was promising to Abraham the coming of
Messiah. Jesus is very clear.

John 8:57-58
57 Dahil dito'y sinabi sa kanya ng mga Judio, Wala ka pang
limampung taong gulang, paano mo masasabing nakita mo na si
Abraham?

58 Sumagot si Jesus, Pakatandaan ninyo: bago pa ipinanganak

si Abraham, Ako ay Ako Na.
