Senior Portfolio Committee

Buckingham Charter Magnet High School
188 Bella Vista Rd
Vacaville, CA 95687

Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I have written this letter to ask for approval of the following senior portfolio. I have spent over
three years of my life attending BCMHS, which not has only challenged me to become
academically stronger, but also allowed me to grow as a person. Due to BCMHS’ harsh
academic rigor and family filled atmosphere I will be able to further my path in becoming a
neurosurgeon.

BCMHS grant me access to classes that will ultimately give me the fundamental knowledge to
attend college and eventually my dream career. Science classes like biology and chemistry has
given the basics of science, which will allow me not to get lost in more advanced courses in
college. However, it’s not just science classes, classes like Spanish and English will also support
me in the future. Those classes taught how to speak and write more effectively, which would
then allow me to communicate better in the real world. These teachers have thoroughly and
strictly pushed me to make me a more determined and stronger individual for a career in
neurosurgery.

My plans for the future involve attending a four-year university, such as UC Davis or Sacramento
State straight out of highschool. I personally would want to major in neuroscience, biology, or
even microbiology. That said, I would also want to further my knowledge in Spanish as well as
take a class in public speaking. Succeeding after college, I would then attend four years of
medical school, like in San Diego or San Francisco. After that I would then do a one year
internship at a hospital, which I would then complete my five to seven year residency for
neurosurgery. After that, I would officially be a neurosurgeon.

Let this letter convince you that I am ready to take on the the future and allow you to accept my
Senior Portfolio. Thank you so much for your time.

Sincerely,

Hope Bruns
