About Skiathos
Skiathos is the westernmost island of Sporades, only two hours away from Volos and one and half
hour by ferry from Agios Constantinos. This is the most tourist developed of the Sporades Islands
and offers goods services, infrastructure and organization.
The island has only one settlement, Skiathos Town, which is the port and capital of Skiathos. The
island has beautiful large beaches and tourist resorts. The most famous beach is Koukounaries, a
fine beach with soft sand and surrounded by lush greenery of pine trees.
Holidays in Skiathos is ideal for those who love exciting nightlife and large beaches. However, it is
also an island that keeps its authenticity as it has many calm coves to enjoy privacy and calmness.
Picturesque paths, hidden valleys, a few calm beaches, impressive caves on the northern side,
sculpting rocks and small coves are the many jewels that visitors can find in Skiathos. In fact, the
island recently provided the setting of a Hollywood film, the famous Mamma Mia movie.
