• The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (abbreviated NSCN) is a Greater
Naga Revolutionist, Christian Naga nationalist insurgent group operating
mainly in Northeast India, with minor activities in northwest Myanmar
(Burma) until 2012.
• The main goal of the organisation is to establish a sovereign Naga state,
"Nagalim", which would consist of all the areas inhabited by the Naga people
in Northeast India and Northwest Myanmar.
• According to the NSCN manifesto, their slogan is "Nagaland for Christ".The
group is accused of kidnapping, assassination, forced conversion and
committing terrorist activities.

• Two major factions of NSCN include NSCN (K), led by Khaplang; and NSCN (I-
M), led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muviah.On November 6, 2015 in
response to an attack on an army convoy in Manipur India designated The
NSCN (K) a terrorist organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)
Act.India's Ministry of Home Affairs labels NSCN a major insurgent group.

Mauritius' Port Louis. From 18-20 August at Swami
Vivekananda International Conference Center.
• It was inaugurated by Prime Minister of Mauritius
Praveen Kumar Jagannath and was attended by
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and some
other ministers.
• The theme of the Conference is “Vaishvik Hindi Aur
Bharatiy Sanskriti”.
• The event, held once in three years, is dedicated to
Hindi language.

SC Approves Coloured Stickers On Vehicles To Indicate Nature Of Fuel

• The Supreme Court accepted the suggestions of
the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways
(MoRTH) to have hologram-based coloured stickers
on vehicles which would indicate the nature of fuel
being used.
• The hologram-based sticker of light-blue colour
will be used for petrol and CNG run vehicles.
• Sticker of orange colour would be placed
on diesel vehicles.
• The use of coloured stickers on vehicles plying in
Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) by
September 30.
• With this approval, Delhi will be first city in India
to have hologram-based coloured stickers on
according to fuel they run on.

imports over half its annual petcoke consumption of
about 27 million tonnes, mainly from the United

coke, which is a dark solid carbon material that emits
11 percent more greenhouse gases than coal,

 UIDAI announces phased rollout of face authentication

• Aadhaar-issuing body UIDAI (Unique Identity
Authority of India) has announced phased roll-out of
face recognition for carrying out Aadhaar
authentication from September 15, 2018 as additional
security layer.
• It also has announced new feature ‘live face photo,’
which is live feed of person facial features whose 12-
digit unique number Aadhaar is submitted.
• The ‘live face photo’ capture would be done to
obtain eKYC for issuance of mobile SIMs.
• The face authentication will be in addition to
fingerprint or iris scans for Aadhaar authentication.
• Shortfall would be charged at Rs 0.20 per transaction.
