Barelang District Police anticipated cases of escaped detainees that

occurred in Sialang Bungkuk prison, Pekanbaru Riau.

The order was immediately conveyed by the Barelang Police Chief to

each Kapolsek in Batam.

One of the entrances from Pekanbaru to Batam is by sea.

Usually Riau people depart through Dumai port and enter Sekupang Port.

KKP Batam Police Chief AKP Reza Morandi Tarigan when confirmed on
Sunday (05/07/2017) afternoon said, since getting the information, his
party immediately conducted strict supervision.

The incoming ships from Dumai were immediately inspected.

"What we come from Dumai is immediately checked. If there is no direct

identity, we secure it. In addition, we also check their luggage,"
Reza explained.

Reza said, during yesterday's activity, there were two people who were
secured because they did not have a complete identity.

The reason for their identity is staying at home.

"Some say that they live, some say they don't have it. But what we
secured yesterday has been collected by their families. The important
thing is there is a guarantee. That's enough," said Reza.

Lastly, Reza said, so far the police in Riau Islands specifically

Batam have not received photos or data from Pekanbaru regarding these
escaped prisoners.

But that does not mean they do not carry out supervision.

"While waiting for the release of them, we still work to secure it.
What is clear, if we are suspicious, we will secure it," he said.
