At the same time a clear statement of the disturbance is of great interest. =10- ay PROMAC BV oO DESCRIPTIt tem 2 22 The steering gear consists of three undependent systems i.e.: Main steering system and spare steering system. Main steering system 1 This system is consisting of a vane pump, driven by an electric motor 400 V 50 Hz. The control will be done by an electric steering handle in a non follow-up (N.F.U.) execution which shall activate an electric control valve 24 v DC. Spare steering system 2 This system is fully identical to the main system but is mounted on a second section of the common oil tank. The control will be done by the same electric steering handle after the spare pump electric motor is started up. Piping for system 1 and system 2: Two steel pipes for the main system and two steel pipes for the spare system are mounted between the tank equipment and the twin brake valve block on the rudder motor. This twin brake valve block is provided with pilot operated check valves. Through this combination the both systems are fully undependent from each other and give the guarantee of safety also in case of failure in one of the both systems. Rudder moto: The rudder tiller will be controlled by two double acting hydraulic cylinders. The maximum rudder angle shall be limited by welded mechanical stops and electric rudder angle limit switches. -20- ay PROMAC BV Go DESCRIPTION (System 2 T - 2 E! Alarming The minimum free running oil pressure and the oil level into the oil tank is constantly checked A failure will be alarmed visually and acousticly on the dash board into the wheelhouse desk An oil pressure gauge is mounted on the tank equipment for checking up the oil pressure.
