One day, a hungry wolf saw a fat rabbit in the jungle. He chased the fat
animal and finally managed to capture it. He took it home to cook for dinner.

The wolf made a fire and hung a big pot filled with water over it. While waiting
for the water to boil, the wolf said to the rabbit,” I’m going to put you into the big
pot to make delicious soup for my dinner.”

The rabbit pleaded with the wolf,” Please boil me in the big pot because it is
good for blood circulation. Do not throw me into those bushes over there. The thorns
will hurt and kill me.”

Read the story below and answer the questions that follow.

Long ago, there was a young fisherman, Ah Min, who loved music. He was too poor to
afford a violin or a harmonica. So he made himself a flute using bamboo and he played
beautiful music with it.

One fine day, while he was practising his favourite song he heard a loud splash from the
sea. Right before his eyes, he saw the Princess of The Sea coming out of the water. She sat on a
rock nearby and listened to Ah Min’s beautiful music.

When he had finished, she asked him if he would like to take a journey to the bottom of
the sea. He agreed. She gave him a strange brightly coloured potion to drink. She explained
that the potion would allow him to breathe in the water.

In the sea, Ah Min saw seahorses, colourful corals, sea anemones and lots of other
beautiful sea creatures he had never seen before. When both of them were in the Sea King’s
palace, Ah Min’s sharp ears heard weeping sounds. He asked the princess who was crying and
why they were crying. A tear trickled down the princess’ cheek and she explained that the Sea
King was dying and her sisters were weeping.

Ah Min went to see the Sea King. The King’s eyes were closed and he looked as he
would die soon. Ah Min felt sad too and he started to play song called “Be Merry”. As Ah Min’s
music filled the air, the King was miraculously cured. Everybody in the palace was overjoyed.
As a reward, the King gave his youngest daughter’s hand in marriage to Ah Min. Thus, Ah Min
became the prince of the sea.
