Resolution/Magnification

What is the difference?

The magnification of an object is how many times bigger the
image is when compared to the original object. Resolution, or
resolving power, is the minimum distance apart that two objects
can be in order for them to appear as separate items.

Questions:
1. What determines the resolving power of a
a) light microscope: The wavelength of the beam of light.
b) electron microscope: The wavelength of the beam of electrons.
2. What is the resolving power of each microscope?
Light microscope: 0.2 μm.
Electron microscope: 0.1 nm
3.what is the approximate magnifying power of each microscope?
Light microscope: 1500 x
Electron microscope: 500000 x
