Resolution No. 2018-092, Designating Voting Delegates for the League of California
SUBJECT:
Cities Annual Conference, September 12-14, 2018.

RECOMMENDATION:
Designate Councilmember Carolyn Hardy as the City’s Voting Delegate and Mayor Steve Dallas as the
Alternate Voting Delegate in the event that Councilmember Hardy is unable to serve in the Voting Delegate
capacity.
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
At its Annual Business Meeting, the League of California Cities membership considers and takes action on
resolutions that establish League policy. In order to participate in this process each City must designate a
delegate and an alternate delegate by Council action to ensure the integrity of the voting process at the Annual
Business Meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.

PRIOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION:


The Council has appointed delegates to vote at the League of California Cities Annual Business Meeting in past
years.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA DESIGNATING


COUNCILMEMBER CAROLYN HARDY AS THE VOTING DELEGATE AND MAYOR STEVE DALLAS AS THE
VOTING DELEGATE ALTERNATE AT THE 2018 ANNUAL LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES CONFERENCE

WHEREAS, the League of California Cities allows one vote per member city on matters
pertaining to League policy; and

WHEREAS, the City understands the importance of appointing a delegate to speak on behalf of
the City Council at the Annual State Conference,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL-BY-
THE-SEA DOES:

Designate Councilmember Carolyn Hardy to be the City’s Voting Delegate at the


League of California Cities 2018 Conference and Mayor Steve Dallas to serve as the
Alternate Voting Delegate.
