‘This research discusses the morphological structure of prefixes and suffixes (al-Af ‘aal al —Mazlidah)
and their effects on the meanings of the verbs themselves while observing their practices in Surah al-
Anvaam and Surah al -A'raaf’. The researcher has raised a few issues amongst which: what are the
prefixes and suffixes apparent in the two surahs? What are the effeets of adding the letters on the
change in meanings? What are the meanings that come with the additions of the extra letters? The
objective of the survey is to gather and calculate the number of prefixes and suffixes available in the
two surahs, while at the same time explaining the effects of the additional letters on the meanings of the
said verbs and their meanings. The researcher used the descriptive method to give some insights into
the status of these verbs, and then the analysis method to elaborate on the meanings of the verbs and
the effects of adding the extra letterss on them .This research hopes to contribute in the field of
morphology from the view of expos
12 the effets of adding eters to the meaning of the specific verbs,
and also the meaning of Qur'anic verses and consequently understanding them with accurate
‘comprehension. This research has disclosed and achieved a few findings. Among the most important
are; this research has proven that there is a very strong relationship between lexical meanings (literal
meaning)and contest meanings (sentence usage). It has also been proven that there is a relation between
syntax (imu nahwu) and interpretation ( ilmu tafsir) in order to decipher Qur'anic verses in their
entirety. There is absolutely no four-lettered verbs (afaal al-rubaliyyah al-mazlidah)in surah al ~An‘eam
dan surah al_A’raaf. The researcher would like to suggest that students of Arabic Language carry out
future researches in the field of morphology (sorof ) dan to focus on itSe epl By
