Class 1 – Sodium Channel Blockers

Lignocaine

Fleccanide

Class 2 – Sympatholytic (Beta adrenergic)

Beta blockers

Class 3 – Prolong action potentials

Amiodarone

Sotalol (Class 2 and 3)

Class 4 – Calcium Channel Blockers

Verapamil

Diltiazem

Others:

Adenosine: Stops calcium current and causes inward Potassium current, hyperpolarising the cells
and suppressing action potentials.Works mainly on the AV node, a little on the SA node

Digoxin: Inhibits Na/K/ATPase, which decreases activity of the Na/Ca exchanger, resulting in net
increased calcium levels inside myocardial cells. Slowing HR and increasing contractility w/o
increasing cardiac work

Vasopressors:

Adrenaline: A and B agonist. Vasoconstrictor (A) and cardiac stimulant (B1) (Does act at B2 so causes
vasodilation to muscles, net drop in TPR

Noradrenaline: A1, A2, B1 agonist (Not B2)

Dopamine: Precursor to Norad
