Introduction
Introduction
The Exchange program is a synthesized Social Formation program, fashioned from
SACSI’s Social Involvement Month (SIMO), Summer of Service (SOS), and the Semestral
Break Immersion Program (SBIP).

It is an exchange program where both the students and the partner organizations
mutually benefit from each other. On the one hand, the students are directly exposed
to the social realities that pervade in the grassroots level. On the other, it is Ateneo’s
way of helping in the community’s development progress by providing skills, attitude,
and knowledge enhancement trainings for the employees of the partner companies.

It is a partnership between the Philosophy Department through its Philosophy of the

Human Person course and SACSI Office where industrial partners from its Social
Involvement Month (SIMO) Program provide the venue for the students’ exposure to
social realities. To deepen the understanding of the student’s experience, the
Philosophy Department provides a venue for personal reflection.

Altogether, these elements provide a holistic experience to the student in

understanding social realities and experience the different aspects of human life
outside his or her own.

Objectives
 To propel the students into becoming socially aware of issues and problems in
their communities.

 To capacitate the students by deepening their understanding and

appreciation of the various philosophical theories on the human person
through exposure setting

 To exchange resources with partner institutions by enhancing its employees’

capacities while providing opportunities for the students’ formation.
