WELCOME TO THE CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1966. They will be worshiping with us
this morning. May God bless them and their contributions to society.
IT IS VACATION TIME FOR FR. ADRIAN starting September 14 until September 27. He was not
able to locate a priest to celebrate the Masses on the weekend, so Deacon Williams will have a
Eucharistic Service instead. That means that there will not be a “Preface, Eucharistic Prayer, or
Consecration of the Eucharist” at the Service. Anyone who attends the Eucharistic Service is not
obligated to attend a mass that weekend, by permission of the Pastor.
NEW APPROACH TO FUNDRAISING: The Parish Council decided a number of months back that
we would not hold the Fall Bazaar Fundraiser as we had in the past number of years. It was just
becoming too difficult. Therefore, they decided to do a simple Pledge Drive to obtain the monies that
we needed from the Bazaar. We are asking each household to donate $100.00 between the kick-off
on October 7 (the church picnic) and November 30. We realize some can do more and others would
have difficulty donating that amount. Please reflect on how much you would have given to the church
at the Bazaar (raffle, dinners, donations and items at the booths on the day) and give at least that
amount. Also, look at how much time you would have spent at the Bazaar. We hope this will be
successful and a lot less worrisome for the parishioners. Please do what you can. We will put out
envelopes to be used for this fundraiser.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES FOR K – 12 grades will begin on September 23 at 10:30 a.m.
after the Sunday Mass. Registration sheets are in the back of Church.
CHURCH PICNIC WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 7. Our Mass that day will be at 10:00 a.m. instead
of 9:00 a.m. (come dressed for a picnic), Religious Education classes will be from 11:00 a.m. to noon
and the picnic begins at noon. The ladies are asked to bring a food dish and the sign-up sheets are
in the back of church. The men are asked to make a donation for the meat that will be provided and
can give it to Mr. Louis French, Mr. Ricky Melancon or Deacon Williams. The Church will provide the
drinks and paper products. Come join us for a good time and pray for good weather.
THE DIOCESE OF SHREVEPORT will host a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat October 26-28, 2018.
“Healing the pain of abortion one retreat at a time.” If you or someone you love is hurting from an
abortion, please call 318-588-1064 for more information.
THE NEW SPEAKER SYSTEM for the Church has been put in and we hope it will be easier to hear
and for the choir to use. If you like it or have problems with it, let Fr. Adrian or Deacon Williams know.
