RELAY, Fuse Sw 3 Amos MODEL PCDS-9E, PAGE 2-4 LLINTRODUCTION. The PCDS-9E is designed to operate EDGE® Series lightoar models 9104, 9206 and 9306. The unit features 3 functions on the slide switch and 6 functions on the push butlon switches, for a total of 9 functions. Functions controlling the lightbar are custom pragram- ‘med at the factory, and each function may have multiple {stackabie) operations with the sole exception of function 9 switen #6 (See page 2 figure 1). The LEDS located above the switches will be lighted in a steady manner wien that switch function is on. AS a warning the LEDS will lash if tat function, or part of it, is not operating be- ‘cause of a burned out bulb or any other malfunction. The 4 wire harness with an AMP 4 position pin connector located in the back of the switch housing, isto be con- nected to the AMP 4 socket connector located on the 2 Conductor cable trom the lightbar (see page 2 figure 2). The 8 wire harness with the AMP 9 position pin connec: tor is available to control, withthe help of the push button switches, functions not pertaining to the lightbar, such as flashing headlights, rill rack, door locks, etc. ‘The PCDS-9E is designed to operate on a 12 volt 0.C. vehicular electrical system. II, MOUNTING (see also page 1). ‘When choosing @ mounting location for the PCDS-9E con- sider the following: The PCDS-SE should be located so that the driver can operate the controls without taking his eyes off the road. interconnecting cables should be easi- ly accessible to facilitate installation. ‘The PCDS-9€ is supplied with a universal mounting bracket that may be attached eithar above or below the ‘switch housing. Determine which holes in the mounting bracket are fo be used, then loosely assemble the brack- ‘and bracket hardware (see page 1), Side the head of the carriage bolt into the slot inthe side of the switch housing. Position the PCDS-9€ in the desired mounting location and trace the outline of the mounting bracke Remove the mounting bracket from the switch housing, ‘Align the mounting bracket withthe outline traced in the previous siep, and trace the outline of the mounting Slats. Position the mounting hardware (customer sup- plied) in the center of each mounting slo, for maximum Side to side adjustment. Secure mounting bracket to mounting surface, Connect the connectors of the two har- nesses exiting the rear of the switch housing (see wiing copy below and figure 2 page 2) and slide switch housing In position and tighten the acorn nuts. I. WIRING. IMPORTANT NOTE... Before attempting any wiring of the PCDS-9E switch housing, make sure all switches are in the ‘OFF" position. The slide switch must be in full left position and all push buttons must be in the fully extended position, ‘A.
