Observations: The plant has two divisions, one for making low capacity (below 100 HP) pumps and other for industrial (capacity from 100 to 300 HP) pumps. Following are the various operations that the industry is performing to realize the final product Pump Shaft dimension measurement (quality control). Shaft (rotor) and stator assembly. Surface grinding of the assembly. Balancing of the assembly. Winding and wiring unit. Testing of the final product to meet the industry standards. Painting Unit. There, we learned many things, like how to manage the inventories according to the requirement, how to carry out proper quality checking and maintenace of the pumps and its spare parts, and we also saw the joining processes like welding and brazing that were employed to join different materials.
