The True Light By: Edilena M.

“Notice, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness.” Luke 11:35

The human being is easily attracted by things that he sees around him. And is exactly where is
the DANGER. The word of God tell us in Joshua 1:8 “ Let not the book of this law depart from
your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all
that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosper, and thou shalt be
successful.’’ We need by the grace of God the discernment of the Holy Spirit in our lives, lest we
be deceived by all seemingly “good and divine” manifestations.

“And no wonder, because Satan himself becomes an angel of light.”2 Corinthians 11:14

Unfortunately, throughout history we observe actions of men who seek their own interest in the
using name of God. Superficially we are content with any light that illuminates our ways. Jesus
however questioned the lights, providing us with an in-depth analysis of the nature of its light,
which is the true. “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world; he
that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”.John 8:12.

“Notice, therefore, that the light that is in you is not darkness.” Luke 11:35. This verse from the
word of God has incredible depth! What light would there be in us who are, in fact, darkness?
Meditating on this biblical verse, some questions have arisen. It´s very important not to confuse
things. See examples:

Notice, then, that the goodness that is in you not merely courtesy.

Notice, then, in your spirituality that it is not just a commotion.

Notice, then, if the truth that is in you is not a lie.

Christ’s warning reminds man of a reflection, this understanding points to a only direction. Any
attitude that is revealed through character, which is practiced, out of fear, interest and without
love, is a brightness full of darkness. Charity devoid of true love for the other is only a way to
increase the superego. Everything, even faith, may be blackened by vanity and personal desires.
Any feeling, gift and talent, word and prayer, can be just human tools to reach the black lights of
success and fame.

We should always remember! “The Lord does not see as man does: Man sees the
appearance, but the Lord sees the heart.”1 Samuel 16:7. Grace and Peace! Amen.
