SUMMARY- Brayan

The gap between Private and State Schools in England is a problem that no one notices but
it is there, and The UK’s Educative System should care more. Orla Douglas demonstrates is
by being a teacher who has taught in both types of schools.

She began to give lessons in state schools. Till her renouncement, Orla learned that state
schools are worried more on avoiding lower grades of their students so the academy does
not tell of on them. They assured that by keeping and eye on the teachers and staff of the
centre, penalizing them if they see something out of the ordinary . On the other hand, she
realized that students there were more independents , capables of working in groups and
learning. When orla resigned from her job and moved to a private school, she realized some
differences. On the Private sector, the senior management focused more on the pastoral.
Orla was impressed by how well attended, guided and cared the students were, due to the
exhaust work the centre spent on assemblies, guided education in home and anti-bullying
campaigns. In spite of that, pupils were quite dependent on what the teachers teach, making
them less prepared of what the future has for them.

The breach between both sides is really big and Orla strongly believes that if we mix the
best things of each side , we could improve more on British education and creating more
prepared and well-rounded young adults
