NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 15th February, 2013

S.0.379(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (b) and (c) of sub-section (2)
of section 32 read with section 6 and sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Agricultural and
Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, 1985 (2 of 1986), the
Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Agricultural
and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Rules, 1986 namely :-
 3

(1) These rules may be called the Agricultural and Processed Food Products
Export Development Authority (Amendment) Rules, 2013.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication, in the Official
Gazette.

1. In the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority

Rules, 1986, for rules 6 and 7 the following rules shall be substituted, namely :-

"6. Powers and duties of the Chairman- The Chairman shall,

(a) be the overall Head of the Authority;.

(b) preside over the meetings of the Authority.
7. Powers and duties of the S~cretary-The Secretary, shall,
(a) sanction expenditure for contingencies, supplies and services
and purchase of articles required for the working of the office of
the Authority;
(b) be responsible for implementation of the Plan Schemes of the
Authority;
(c) exercise such administrative and financiar powers as may be
necessary for the smooth functioning of the Authority;
(d) issue .receipts on behalf of the Authority for all moneys received
under the Act;
(e) maintain a proper record of the proceedings of the meetings of
the Authority and decisions 'of those meetings;

.(f) be responsible for preparation of draft Annual report on the

working of the Authority and its submission· to Central
Government after approval by the Authority ona date not later
than the date specified in this behalf by the Central Government;
(g) maintain a proper record of the register of exporters in
accordance with the provisions of Chapter III of the Act;
(h) attend all the meetings of the Authority and assist Chairman in
implementing the decisions of the Authority;

(i) the Secretary may, for the purpose of carrying out the functions
of the Authority, assign duties to the officers and employees of

the Authority.
